Power Up for Justice Episode 3: Bayview Hunter’s Point Rally
On Wednesday, June 24th, over 150 people gathered at the steps of San Francisco City Hall to call for health and environmental justice for the Bayview Hunters Point community. Organized by Greenaction and the Marie Harrison Community Foundation, residents including youth, elders, families, neighbors, and those in solidarity joined to uplift the longstanding demands to protect the health and safety of the community from radioactive and toxic waste at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard Superfund Site. Email Mayor Lurie and urge him to support the community’s demands for a full cleanup of the Shipyard Superfund Site, with full community oversight, and work to repair the damage to the health of residents who have been exposed to the contamination.
