Join Greenaction for Health and Environmental Justice’s Salinas Valley Environmental and Climate Justice Youth Academy’s Youth-Led Virtual Community Gathering! We will be joined together on May 18, 2020 at 6PM PST on a Zoom call, and streamed onto Facebook Live on our page @Greenaction4EJ. Come to learn about pesticide drift, farmworkers rights, environmental justice, and a brief discussion on how COVID-19 has affected farmworkers in Salinas Valley. Guest speakers include Martha Sanchez from Cal EPA Department of Pesticide Regulation and Monterey County’s Agricultural Commissioner Henry Gonzales. Our Salinas Valley Environmental and Climate Justice Leaders will also be presenting about their experiences in the academy and outreach projects.
This meeting will be held predominantly in Spanish, but English translation will be available. To join this event, please feel free to join the Zoom call with the number ID: 852 2331 0828 at 6PM PST. ¡Únase con Acciónverde ? Por la Salud y la Justicia Ambiental y la Academia Juvenil del Valle de Salinas! Tendremos una reunión comunitaria virtual dirigida por jóvenes! Nuestra cita es el 18 de Mayo de 2020 a las 6 P.M. PST en una llamada por la aplicación “Zoom” y se transmitirá a Facebook Live en nuestra página “Greenaction for Health and Environmental Justice”.
Vengan a aprender sobre los efectos de los pesticidas que causan a la salud, los derechos de los trabajadores agrícolas, la justicia ambiental, y una breve discusión sobre cómo COVID-19 ha afectado a los trabajadores agrícolas en el Valle de Salinas. Tendremos una presentación de Martha Sánchez del Departamento de Regulación de Pesticidas del estado de California, y el Comisionado de Agricultura del Condado de Monterey, Henry Gonzales. También tendremos presentaciones de nuestros jóvenes de la comunidad de Gonzales, sobre sus experiencias en la Academia Juvenil é informar a su comunidad sobre los derechos de los agricultores.
