Grayson is a small, rural and primarily Latino, Spanish-speaking community located on the west side of Stanislaus County in the northern part of the Central Valley. Located along Interstate 5, Grayson residents are exposed to the terrible air quality that plauges the Central Valley, as well as massive diesel pollution, emissions from the Covanta garbage incinerator and garbage landfill in nearby Crow’s Landing, pesticide drift and had been impacted by the infamous Westley tire fire.

Greenaction works closely with the Grayson Neighborhood Council, a community environmental and social justice organization.

Our current efforts focus on pollution from the Covanta incinerator and the need for increased recycling and zero waste programs instead of burning and dumping huge amounts of garbage.
