Greenaction has a small staff and a strong internship and volunteer program offering opportunities for students, community members, and professionals to get involved. Our internships are unpaid, but students receive an intensive experience working directly with Greenaction and our community partners.
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
Interns & Volunteers for Summer and Fall, 2026
Greenaction seeks two volunteers and/or college/university interns in
the San Francisco area who can dedicate at least 15-20 hours per week.
The intern/volunteer needs to be able to help out in person at our
office at 450 Geary Street, San Francisco at least one day per week and
can also do some remote work. Projects include research, community
outreach, social media, assisting with office tasks, supporting our
campaigns in urban, rural, and indigenous communities.
Greenaction seeks two university/college interns to assist in our campaigns, organizing, community outreach, policy advocacy, event support, and research. Internships are unpaid but offer intensive experience. Internships must be at least 15 hours per week, for at least 2-3 months. To apply, email bradley@greenaction.org your resume and

STUDENT INTERNSHIPS
We accept 3-5 interns per semester to work with our staff and community partners on a wide range of projects, including community organizing and outreach, community education, conducting training workshops for community members, doing research, producing fact sheets and reports, graphic design, multimedia projects, and advocacy. Bilingual English/Spanish and/or Chinese language skills are helpful. Students should be able to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per week during the semester.
Opportunities include:
- Working with our staff on current campaigns out of our San Francisco office
- Bilingual Spanish-English interns needed to help with our staff and allies in the San Joaquin Valley and the Salinas Valley
- Community education and organizing with our campaigns in urban, rural, and indigenous communities
- Research and writing of fact sheets, reports, and other documents
- Policy advocacy with local, regional, state, and federal agencies
- Social media management and content creation
- Participating in the Bayview Hunters Point Environmental Justice Response Task Force “problem solver” team. The Task Force is part of the statewide IVAN Network, Identifying Violations Affecting Communities. www.bvhp-ivan.org
